Troubleshoot No Internet

We get it losing Internet at any time can be frustrating.  This guide will provide some basic troubleshooting steps to get you back online.

Check for outages.

  1. Check for outages within Power Networx by clicking here
  2. Check for outages in your area.  If your connection is with NBN click here.  If your connection is with Opticomm click here

Power Cycle 

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?  Power cycling your network connection devices can get things back and going again.

Check your WiFi

There maybe an issue with your WiFi, try connecting your computer or laptop directly to the router via an ethernet cable.  If the internet works when your device is connected via ethernet cable then its the WiFi that’s the issue and not the internet

Troubleshoot slow speeds

When things slow down and you get the buffering wheel of death the internet goes from being an awesome tool to a source of frustration.  This guide will provide some basic troubleshooting steps to pin point the issue

Power Cycle 

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?  Power cycling your network connection devices can get things back and going again.

Run a Speed Test

Please run a speed test.  To provide the best possible result the speed test should be done from a computer/laptop that is connected to the router via an ethernet cable.  

If you do the speed test from a device connected via WiFi and there is an issue with your WiFi this will affect the result.  

If the speed test shows poor speeds when connected via an ethernet cable please provide the results of at least 3 speed tests so we can investigate the issue further.
